Technical Theory
High temperature high pressure steam generated in an autoclave has strong penetrability so that it can penetrate into microbes. It is capable of destroying protein and killing viruses such as vegetative bacteria, gemmas and spores etc. This technology is suitable for treatment of infectious and damnifying medical wastes.
Treatment Process
Medical waste is loaded into specialized pressure vessel where it is sterilized using vacuum and high temperature high pressure steam. Most plastic bags and sealed containers are melted or cracked during the process so that medical waste is exposed, and unexposed medical waste inside uncracked containers is also disinfected and sterilized under high temperature and high pressure.
The temperature, pressure, vacuum level and duration of disinfection and sterilization are pre-determined to ensure treatment quality. Then the treated medical waste is crushed. The volume reduction is 50%-85% and weight reduction is approximately 20%, and the medical waste is turned into regular municipal solid waste.
